Job Purpose/Overview

At Lavazza, the Sr. Designer Role will be responsible for delivering strong design program(s), integrating images, text, motion, etc, with a great sense of aesthetics, while executing against the brand and/or product vision, and any available creative brief. This individual will provide creative ideas and concepts that differentiate our products and stands out to our customer, refines, develops and/or implements creative concepts for deliverables across various design tactics (collateral, in-office, online, mobile, print, direct, etc.). 

The Sr. Designer will ensure deliverables are completed in an efficient manner and are fully functional against all intended design platforms, ensures designs and concepts adhere to the specifications provided. 

In this role, they will lead a small team of designers/copywriters, managing creative projects ranging from packaging design and brand materials to media assets, ensuring consistency of branding and messaging across channels.


Location: West Chester, PA or New York City 


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensures accurate, consistent, and timely completion of design deliverables within budget, objectives, and creative brief specifications.
  • Manages and mentors a small creative team, including delegating projects and managing overall team workflow.
  • Meets quality standards, at all times, for all assigned deliverables and makes recommendations to management for improvements in creative design concept, tools, processes and/or assigned tasks.
  • Creates strong and effective internal partnerships and collaborates across the business; listens and values the opinions of others to drive aligned creative recommendations
  • Supports the team by pitching in at any level and effectively working across the organization to meet the needs of the business.
  • Takes ownership of personal actions and outcomes; encourages and empowers others to do the same.

Job Specifications/Qualifications


  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution, Graphic Arts, Graphic Design, Package Design, Interior Design, Advertising, Marketing preferred 
  • Publishing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.
  • Basic understanding of effective Creative Design practices, trends, techniques, tools and processes, across various touch-points (e.g. packaging, online, mobile, print, direct, etc.).
  • Good people, organizational, and analytical skills (including time management and attention to detail).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic to proficient Computer Software (SW) Skills:
  • Apple Mac or Windows equipment and operating systems
  • Overall Business SW (e.g. MS-Office Suite)
  • Specific Functional SW (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat; Project Management Software; Agile; or others; etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced Creative Design skills.
  • Ability to translate existing and emerging concepts into actual brand, collateral and/or product graphic designs.
  •  Ability to develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with clients, peers, and colleagues in one or more areas of the organization.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal clients and/or external clients (e.g. service providers, product manufacturers, printers, and/or clients).
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, with a moderate degree of supervision, to handle a heavy workload, to prioritize work, and to meet assigned deadlines
  • May perform other duties, as needed, to meet the needs of the business.
