Purchasing Manager (m/w/d) Germany & Austria


This is a permanent, full-time position based in Frankfurt am Main to be filled as soon as possible.


Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer Germany & Austria, the Purchasing Manager (m/w/d) Germany & Austria is responsible for the efficient and effective planning, procurement, execution and monitoring of goods, strategies and services for Germany and Austria (in collaboration with headquarters and based on total operating costs). The incumbent shall identify resources that fall within the budget and facilitate communication with vendors to deliver products and services in line with Lavazza’s business plan. He/she is also responsible for communicating cross-functionally within the company and remedying potential issues.



Your main responsibilities


  • Lead, develop and motivate the Specialist Purchasing and Procurement
  • Develop and implement local processes and strategies in collaboration with management, while complying with Lavazza’s global purchasing guidelines
  • Continuously refine and document the purchasing department’s processes and systems
  • Conduct/manage controlling measures, statistics, price analyses, delivery times and qualitative benchmarks
  • Identify and assess new national and international procurement markets, as well execute tenders, price and contract negotiations with sustainable yield increase to optimize purchasing conditions and negotiations of supplier agreements
  • Supplier management and development, to include analyzing and monitoring the purchasing market as it relates to innovation and competitor activities
  • Identify company-wide cost saving measures
  • Demand-oriented disposition and procurement of service capacities, merchandise, consumables, and components, taking into account economical, quality and logistical criteria
  • Monitor and analyze trends in corporate spending and inventory control to facilitate future recommendations
  • Monitor the performance of vendors, service providers, and/or contractors for quality control
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, as well as recommend subsequent adjustments as required
  • Provide reports for headquarters and the local management team on cost and supplier analysis, as well as contractual agreements and PO status
  • Risk management
  • Maintain new contracts into SAP
  • Actively collaborate cross-departmentally


Professional und Leadership Experience


  • University degree in business administration or comparable education
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in purchasing, preferably within the consumer goods industry
  • Sound knowledge of contracting and general accounting, as well as experience in cost analysis and calculations
  • Ability to drive financial, operational and performance targets to achieve agreed-upon objectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a global framework
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; Italian advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP desirable
