OVERVIEW
At Lavazza, the Operations Specialist is a key contributor to the Supply Chain Department who works cross-functionally with both the Transportation Specialist and the Warehouse Specialist to assist with all activities related to the transportation and warehousing of finished goods. The Operations Specialist also supports inventory control functions and partners with 3PL warehouse staff to research and resolve inventory issues. As a member of the Logistics Team, the Operations Specialist is a liaison between several key internal stakeholders including Quality, Customer Service, Procurement and Sales and works to ensure timely, accurate shipments to both finished goods warehouse and external customers. This person will assist in analysis of various data sets and KPI’s to support cost-efficient, productive operations and continuous improvement efforts throughout the logistics operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Foster a customer service mindset while acting as a vital link between internal purchasers, customer service agents, third-party warehouses, trucking vendors, quality technicians, and end customers to ensure the accurate and consistent flow of goods within the agreed shipment period.
- Assist with implementation and management of the Salesforce platform with Lavazza internal and external customers.
- Exhibit high level of communication and sense of urgency up and down the supply-chain to ensure that all parties are aware of plans, issues and remedial actions.
- Support inventory management functions through daily inventory movement tasks, reconciliation, and communication with internal and external partners.
- Proactively develop, recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs in support of transportation and warehousing strategies.
- Assist with oversight of customer delivery requirements in partnership with Customer Service and ensure correct information is provided to carriers, warehouses, customer service and other stakeholders through daily reporting and other means.
- Track budget and expenses, as well as proposing improvement plans to optimise flows and costs.
- Support as needed with invoices and other financial functions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform other role specific duties as required.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management
- Ability to efficiently and effectively learn new technology (Proprietary Lavazza tools)
- Experience working with external suppliers and logistic partners
- High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize
- Highly agile and thrives in a fast-paced working environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Highly organized and strong project management skills
- Strong collaboration and with the ability to work well cross functionally with all levels of the organization - peers to Executives
- Ability to work in an environment of tight deadlines, and to consistently challenge and be challenged on performance results
- Microsoft Excel and SAP skills required
