OVERVIEW
The Operations Shift Manager (OSM) is a key role within the Manufacturing department at Lavazza North America. This position is responsible for leading the manufacturing operations of a designated shift team of full-time associates and contractors to produce a high-quality product in an engaging environment. Operating on the third shift for 8-hour shifts/ 5 days a week in our West Chester, PA factory that manufactures drinks products for North America markets. As an OSM you will be responsible for all aspects of operations on third shift; Including Safety, Quality, Output and Performance and Associate Engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct, coordinate and facilitate the daily activities of direct reports to ensure the achievement of production goals and customer expectations in a safe, timely, cost-effective manner.
- Drives a culture of responsibility and ownership for yourself and throughout your team. Be a role model on shift for Lavazza culture of Passion for Drinks, Customer Centricity and Business ownership.
- Lead and champion Safety, Quality, Output, Efficiency and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in the factory.
- Drive and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) principles and action plans.
- Develop and maintain a positive employee relations environment. Ensure direct reports are adhering to company policy and administering practices in fair and equitable manner.
- Build a cohesive team, with customer focus and standard processes across shifts.
- Work closely and communicate effectively with other OSMs, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Scheduling, and HR teams, to ensure a smooth, consistent, and effective execution of the manufacturing operations.
- Own plan efficiency, safety, and quality metrics.
- Provide line manager support, coaching and development of direct reports.
- Deliver clear expectations, monitor, and manage Associate performance daily.
- Participate and engage in weekly manager and business continuity meetings.
- Optimize the use of your resources to adhere to annual budget plan.
- Participate in ad hoc projects to drive step changes in the factory as well as throughout the business.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Degree or GED essential or 2 yr. Technical Degree
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science or Business, preferred
- 5-7 years’ experience in a leadership or management role
- Experience managing operating budgets
- Demonstrates excellent attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to facilitate and work within a team environment
- Continuously learn and apply new methods and techniques, as well as strong data collection ability in the areas of quality and efficiency
- Work in a fast-paced environment that will require a proactive approach to process improvement
- Understanding of machinery and/or its operation
- Exhibits good coaching and mentoring skills
- Ability to think critically with accurate technical judgment
- Exercise sound judgment and decision-making concerning Associates, quality, safety, and performance of machines and equipment
- Demonstrates strong communication capabilities, both verbally and written, using appropriate Microsoft Office tools, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as other Lavazza ancillary software
PHYSICIAL/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Walk and stand for long periods of time. 50% of time required to be on production floor
- Weekends and overtime may be required as needed by the business
