Job Purpose/Overview

At Lavazza, the Operations Planner is a critical role within our Supply & Logistics team at Lavazza North America. The Operations Planner is responsible to ensure the availability of the finished goods to be sold, maintaining internal production plans for the internal production, healthy stock levels, and liaising with various department as necessary. The plans are performed on BY software (S&OP) with the help of other tools such as SAP ECC, SAP HANA and Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the availability of finished goods to be sold and applying any updates to the weekly plan based on productions /sales forecasted changes
• Develop monthly production plans to provide capacity feedback and input to materials and coffee reordering
• Develop strategies and tactics to effectively manage inventory portfolios, with the intention of minimizing costs and improving supply chain performance
• Establish partnerships with local Plant Logistics and Demand Planning departments to resolve conflicts, communicate any stockout situations and improve production efficiency
• Support the supply planner with info related to raw and packaging materials reorders
• Utilize knowledge and expertise to support various productivity improvement initiatives
• Establish productive and dynamic working relationship with cross functional partners, maintaining regular associations through meetings and communication
• Manage of production planning KPI, scheduling, and forecasting reports
• Liaison with Marketing and Manufacturing departments on NPDs launch schedule
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Job Specifications/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Manager
• 3-5 years of related experience in Production Planning or Scheduling
• Experience in Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) software preferred
• Experience with SAP, ERP system with EDI required
• Experience with MS Office (Excel and Word) required
• Project management experience preferred
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communications (verbal/written) skills across all levels of operation
• Self-motivated and ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities 
• Ability to work well in a team environment
