JOB OVERVIEW

At Lavazza North America, the Investment & Services Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement group within the Investment & Services category area. This involves collaborating with senior managers and relevant stakeholders to understand internal business needs and the overall procurement objectives and targets, conducting category market analysis and intelligence, and defining a category management strategy accordingly. The Investment & Services Procurement Manager will manage supplier strategic sourcing, supplier relationship and contracting, and overseeing purchase-to-pay processes of the category, with the ultimate goal of ensuring compliance with regulations and both internal and external standards.  The role requires keeping track of KPIs and metrics to check budget versus actual spending progress and providing reports to the NA Director of Procurement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define the procurement strategy for the category area relatively investments & services, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Marketing) to define procurement needs and requirements, and ensure alignment with the broader business strategy.
  • Responsible for managing the budget of the category area, setting purchasing priorities to ensure efficient and effective spending and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Perform a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential risks of investments & services procurement and their impact on the department and the organization as a whole, developing mitigation strategies and action plans to address and minimize risks proactively.
  • Oversees and leads category management strategy definition, defining the category portfolio and segmentation, and overseeing category intelligence activities and targets.
  • Oversees and leads supplier strategic sourcing, including supplier scouting, evaluation, and selection based on category market analysis and intelligence, and methods and criteria defined by the applicant department (e.g., pricing, capacity, delivery schedules), as well as contract negotiation and finalization.
  • Oversees and leads supplier relationship management and contracting, defining the supplier portfolio and segmentation, defining performance evaluation criteria, overseeing and providing guidelines for contract lifecycle management.
  • Manages category Purchase-to-Pay processes, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, purchasing priorities alignment with category management strategies under responsibility, reviewing and approving category purchase orders within a specified spending limit.
  • Ensures processes related to investments & services procurement comply with relevant regulations and both internal and external standards, staying updated on changing regulatory requirements related to sourcing, sustainability, fair trade, and labor practices.
  • Provides expert advice and guidance for procurement issues relatively the area of responsibility, addressing critical issues and defining preventive actions.
  • Defines and monitors KPIs and metrics to check budget vs actual spending progress within the area of responsibility, identifying areas of improvement and defining changes with the leadership.
  • Fosters a culture of ongoing improvement and innovation in the procurement category to enhance effectiveness and optimization, utilizing up-to-date market studies to direct supplier search and selection.
  • Manage, develop, and coach a team of two or more. Handle retention, performance management, resource scheduling and planning, capability and skill development, and career development.
  • Collaborate with the HQ team to develop a Categories playbook and address that to realize the strategic plan.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of years of successful leadership experience in relevant industry.
  • Strong financial acumen to understand business needs for cash flow, working capital, and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and drive a high-performing global procurement team.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
  • Strong alignment and collaboration skills to communicate vision and gain alignment with senior management both internally and externally.
  • Ability to influence and drive measurable change to purchasing behavior across the varying business units.
  • Ability to negotiate, manage and complete complex, long-term contracts, and short-term consulting engagements.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in interacting with internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • An eagerness to learn, personable demeanor, and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively amongst colleagues, and across all levels of management.
  • Up to 10% Travel may be required domestically and internationally.
