Indirect Buyer

Job Purpose/Overview

At Lavazza, the Indirect Buyer is responsible for delivering a continuous supply of cost-effective, service orientated, timely and responsive in the indirect sourcing area (e.g. factory & general services, marketing & sales, logistics). He/she works closely with the regional sourcing manager to drive the efficient and effective implementation of sourcing strategies and manages supplier performance on a day-to-day basis, acts as the first point of contact for suppliers.


He/she will work closely with the strategic sourcing manager on adopting and implementing a new Indirect purchasing system in order to render a world-class service to the internal customers. The job holder has responsibility for the day to day operational & process management of Indirect purchasing and is the 1st line contact / support for all Internal Stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•    Responsible for the day-to-day execution of contracts for approved sourcing strategies for Lavazza Group Indirect suppliers to ensure contractual compliance and SLA achievement.
•    Developing supplier relationships to ensure effective day to day delivery of goods or services in a timely fashion.
•    Able to effectively communicate with all internal stakeholders regarding supply capability and engaging them as required to ensure alignment and support for any issue resolution that is required.
•    Provide commercial support to internal stakeholders in the development of sourcing or strategies tactical purchasing activities for low risk or commodity spend areas.
•    Responsible for effective process management and governance for day to day buying activities for all Lavazza Group Indirect purchasing.



Job Specifications/Qualifications

•    Four-year college degree from an accredited institution, Business preferred
•    3-5 years’ experience in Indirect Operations Buying role
•    Skilled in contract review and negotiation
•    Skilled in performing and executing RFI/RFP’s
•    Preferred experience in FMCG manufacturing Supply Chain
•    Previous experience in Supplier Management 
•    Can demonstrate experience of planning & organization
•    Communication / Presentation skills to good standard 
•    Business acumen
•    The role may require up to 20% travel – predominantly within NA but with some Global travel as needed
