Job Purpose/Overview

At Lavazza, the Services Buyer will be responsible for executing activities in terms of costs, quality, risk & availability for Lavazza North America. They will deliver continuous supply of cost-effective, service orientated, timely and responsive in the services sourcing area (e.g. Facilities, Logistics, Maintenance). Work closely with the Sr. Manager, Procurement to drive the efficient and effective implementation of sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance on a day-to-day basis, and act as the first point of contact and support for suppliers and all internal stakeholders. The Services Buyer will be pivotal in leading value generation activities and managing the growing services needs of the expanded Lavazza North America business and will support the integration process and standardization of services purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities


  • Supply Chain Management –the day-to-day execution of contracts for approved sourcing strategies for services suppliers to ensure contractual compliance and SLA achievement.
  • Supplier Relationships– developing supplier relationships to ensure effective day-to-day delivery of goods or services in a timely fashion.
  • Stakeholder Engagement –communicate with all internal stakeholders regarding supply capability and engaging them as required to ensure alignment and support for any issue resolution that is required.
  • Sourcing – provide commercial support to internal stakeholders in the development of sourcing or strategies tactical purchasing activities for low risk or commodity spend areas.
  • Process Effectiveness – Responsible for effective process management and governance for day to day buying activities for all Lavazza Professional North America and Lavazza Premium Coffees Corp. Services purchasing
  • Build and maintain effective Supplier relationships working with suppliers for resolution of issues where possible and will escalate to the Sr Manager, Procurement for support as needed.
  • Establish & maintain relationships with Finance, department managers (eg maintenance, facilities, supply chain, etc.), and their teams to ensure understanding of their needs and facilitate the appropriate level of challenge.
  • Provide advice and support to stakeholders to ensure services purchasing activities are operated in accordance with business governance requirements.


Job Specifications/Qualifications


  • 3-5 years experience in Services Buying or equivalent role. Experience in logistics and industrial services buying is preferred.
  • Bachelors degree required; business, technical, or science related field degree preferred
  • Proficient in contract review and negotiation
  • Skilled in performing and executing RFI/RFP’s
  • Understanding with Facilities, Warehousing and Logistics, Capital, MRO Services Purchasing, preferred
  • Experience in Supplier Management
  • Demonstrates strong planning and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time may be required
