R&D Packaging Senior Specialist

We are looking for an R&D Packaging Senior Specialist to join our Packaging & Materials Division at our Innovation Center in Turin.

The selected candidate will be part of the R&D Packaging team, with a primary focus on fully buy products, managing external rework activities ensuring compliance with Lavazza quality requirements.
The main mission of the role is to improve industrialization processes at supplier sites, ensuring process predictability, efficiency, and alignment with project timelines, costs, and business requirements. The role will also be responsible for managing external rework activities, ensuring full compliance with Lavazza quality standards.

📊 Your Day-to-day Activities

• Implement and qualify new suppliers in compliance with existing technical specifications
• Optimize current technical specifications, ensuring that all critical parameters are clearly defined, measurable, and monitored to prevent production and quality issues
• Attend and support production trials at both supplier facilities and Lavazza manufacturing plants
• Validate packaging solutions for new projects, applying relevant testing methods in accordance with established standards and new methodologies
• Plan, organize, and coordinate trials throughout the entire process, from material ordering to the analysis and reporting of post-trial results

💡Relevant Skills & Competencies

• Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
• 3-6 years of experience in food technology, with a focus on packaging materials and technologies
• Experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment is considered a plus

Salary And Benefits

• The role is classified at 2°, CCNL Industria Alimentare
• Initial annual gross salary of minimum € 45.000
• Premio per Obiettivi (PPO) equal to € 2500 at target level for 2026
