JOB OVERVIEW

At Lavazza North America, the Green Coffee & Import Specialist is a key contributor to the continuity and sourcing activities of Green Coffee in North America. In this role, the Green Coffee Specialist will oversee and manage all activities related to the import of green coffee into North America and support all green coffee contracts and shipments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage all activities related to the import of green coffee into North America.
  • Verify all green coffee contracts and shipments received by external suppliers.
  • Coordinate and plan all shipments arranged with external suppliers and shipping companies.
  • Ensure import shipments comply with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
  • Work closely with customs brokers, steamship lines and freight forwarders.
  • Review and confirm timely submission of Importer Security Filing (ISF).
  • Ensure correctness of customs documentation.
  • Review for accuracy and process supplier, freight and broker invoices.
  • Track and trace all green coffee imports from origin up to the arrival of containers to the warehouse.
  • Manage all data entry and documentation including, but not limited to, shipping and warehousing company’s rates on Coffee Buying Department (CBD) net, shipping records (OBL or Seaway), green coffee invoices, coffee samples, customs clearances, and archiving of documentation.
  • Supervise all green coffee warehouse stock inventory management.
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with partners in HQ, CBD suppliers, and vendors.
  • Open new supplier account on SAP/CBD net.
  • Perform other role specific duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, or related field.
  • 2-3 years experience in import/export required.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively learn new technology (Proprietary Lavazza tools), MS Suites required.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize.
  • Highly agile and thrives in a fast-paced working environment with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Highly organized and strong project management skills.
  • Strong collaboration and with the ability to work well cross functionally with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in an environment of tight deadlines, and to consistently challenge and be challenged on performance results.
  • Experience working with suppliers and logistic partners.
  • Ability to walk/stand for long periods to perform stock counting and suppliers’ visits.
  • Travel to onsite suppliers may be required as needed.
