Job Purpose/Overview

At Lavazza, the Distributor Manager – Dallas role is responsible for maintaining and growing the availability of Lavazza products through our distributor network and with assigned customers within your territory.  The role must drive improvements in “customer sites” conditions, while delivering against assigned goals and objectives. 


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop annual business plans for customers maximizing business opportunities, driving profitable growth, growing share and managing to company objectives
  • Utilize knowledge of your geography and key contacts to gain access to potential new customers presenting and gaining new distribution
  • Monitors and reports on distributor market strength and financial viability and develops contingency plan in conjunction with finance team.
  • Establishes sales territories, budgets, goals and objectives for each distributor.
  • Collaboratively works with distributors to identify and penetrate regional customers “cold calling,” promoting company products.
  • Regular in market ‘work with distributor’ schedule to evaluate effectiveness of plan implementation as well as in identifying volume/profit opportunities.
  • Develops and present annual distributor business reviews with all Tier 1& 2 distributors, with mutually aligned plans, reviewed quarterly.
  • Provide input and feedback to trade marketing team on sales and marketing strategies, tactics, and programs.
  • Provide business and plan updates to internal and external stakeholders each period, inclusive of full use of salesforce.com


Job Specifications/Qualifications

  • Four year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 or more years of experience in the selling of food products or related
  • Minimum 2 or more years managing trade funds and budgets
  • Minimum 2 or more years direct customer facing sales experience



•    Effective sales management and solution selling skills
•    Presentation effectiveness – ability to define business opportunities, gather appropriate data to support, organize information, write presentation and deliver to effectively influence key decision maker
•    Strong Planning skills – ability to forecast, organize and prioritize multiple projects and activities
•    Cross Functional Effectiveness – Understand cross functional implication of actions, coordinate major activities and initiatives, communicating issues and impacts
•    Key user skills on Lavazza CRM
•    Execution and measurement
•    Experience working in distributor environment a plus
•    Travel as needed 50-75% of time
