R&D, Quality and Procurement Senior Controller

We are looking for a Senior Controller to partner with the R&D, Quality, and Procurement teams within the newly constituted multi-country, multi-brand & omnichannel coffee player, ECS (part of Lavazza Group). ECS has the ambition to become the n.1 player in the vending and e-commerce channels in Europe in the next 5 years. 

As Senior Controller you will act as a strong business partner to the ECS Transformation Director, contributing to strategic decision-making in building a new organization. You will provide economic insights to support decision-making and assessments as well as developing and managing new controlling processes across the ECS organization during this phase of transformation.

📊  Your day-to-day activities:

Alongside standard controlling activities (investment evaluation, monthly variance analysis, reports on cost reduction projects, analysis of costs/R&D projects, etc. you will:

• define business targets, conducting economic evaluations and overseeing planning processes, including long-term planning, annual budgeting, and periodic forecasting.
• Support the ECS Transformation Director by developing business cases that help identify the most appropriate strategic choices.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in terms of processes and technologies supporting controlling and managerial reporting activities 
• Provide assistance to Leadership / Senior Management in analyzing business performance by preparing cost analysis and profitability to identify efficiencies / potential savings actions;                                                                 
• Collaborate with Functional / Regional / Country management to ensure alignment of financial targets and resource allocation, according to Group strategy;
• Manage the preparation and consolidation of yearly budget and related revision cycles (forecasts) as well as long-term plans
• Monitor financial trends company-wide and by functional areas, analysing results and variances versus previous forecasts, and providing suggestions to senior management for effectively identifying adequate actions and corrections;
• Monitor the progress of new initiatives planned by the business / functional areas in order to evaluate results and returns on investments;

💡 Who we’re looking for

• Ideally you’ll have strong experience in operations controlling (industrial, logistics, R&D, quality, procurement) or in project-driven / highly transforming environments.
• A proactive approach, strong communication and project management skills and a mindset open to challenges and innovation 
• A predisposition for working in cross-functional teams
• Fluent English (French and German considered a plus)

The position is based in Turin with occasional European business travel required
