Job Purpose/Overview


At Lavazza, the Channel Strategy Associate Manager position supports Lavazza North America’s Away From Home Channel, with a specific focus on Office Coffee Services (OCS). This individual will be accountable for diagnosing complex business issues, identifying key insights, and recommending action plans necessary to achieve the business’ short- and long-term objectives.


Location: West Chester, PA  



Key Responsibilities


  • Deliver insights & strategic actions derived from sell-out/consumption, sell-in/shipment, industry publications, and other syndicated data sources (Technomics, GlobalData, IoT, customer sell-out trends, etc)
  • Utilize a Category Management approach to developing the OCS channel by delivering actionable recommendations for optimal planograms, distribution opportunities, and delivering profitable and sustainable growth based on consumption and market trends
  • Develop fact-based selling stories and selling tools for the sales team to use with current and prospective customers
  • Develop and maintain actionable reporting and scorecarding for the OCS Sales Team and cross functional departments that provides visibility on business performance vs budget and other strategic KPIs. (Proficiency in PowerBI is required)
  • Lead Monthly Business Reviews and collaborate with all functions to drive action-oriented meetings as a critical step in the monthly business planning process
  • Act as the cross functional orchestrator between stakeholders to co-build the OCS Channel’s strategic vision, drive execution and manage course correction actions
  • Sales Support: Drive business development opportunities with analytics and strategy planning. Develop, animate and track Commercial Fundamental KPIs (assortment, distribution, pricing) for Sales Team and leadership
  • Demand/Supply Support: Provide market, category and customer insights and trends that will drive effective decisions as part of S&OP process
  • Marketing Support: Support Brand and Innovation Managers on NPD (new product development) business case development and commercialization strategy, portfolio strategy, and channel activation
  • Own Sales tools and communications repository ensuring all critical materials are up to date and communicated effectively
  • Ad hoc strategic projects and support as needed to deliver business objectives for the OCS Channel



Job Specifications/Qualifications


  • Four year degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Business
  • 3+ years working experience in CPG Trade Marketing, Category Management, Sales, or Marketing required
  • Experience supporting Food Service channels and customers preferred
  • Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PPT) required
  • Proficent with using and maintaining PowerBI or other business intelligence tools (required)
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively learn new technology (Proprietary Lavazza tools)
  • Strong analytic and story telling capabilities to diagnosis complex business issues, visualize the data, identify the insights, and recommend clear action plans
  • Highly agile and thrives in a fast paced working environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills with the ability to work well cross functionally with all levels of the organization - peers to Executives
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize
  • Minimal travel expectations: less than 10% per year, typically to NYC office as needed. International travel possible.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
