JOB OVERVIEW

The Lavazza North America, reporting to the Manager of Payroll & Benefits, this role handles all aspects of the payment process, from tracking employees’ time through issuing paychecks. Also coordinates and administration of HRIS, and procedures related to all Lavazza Benefit and Payroll needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interprets, implements, and maintains policies and procedures pertaining to payroll and benefits.
  • Ensures payroll database reflects current and accurate information; verifies and inputs pay and data changes.
  • Calculates termination payments in compliance with Company policy and federal and state laws; calculates; adjustments, special pays, retroactive payments; issues manual payments as required.
  • Audits and maintains accurate benefit use and accruals.
  • Ensures the timely production and distribution of W2s.
  • Submits payroll and benefit reports to external agencies as requested;
  • Maintain employee benefits systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Assists with maintaining the Attendance System for all employees and handle employee’s inquiries and problems relating to attendance records.
  • Coordinate COBRA administration with TPA.
  • Prepare and submit various HRIS systems reports on a consistent frequency for compliance and accuracy of employee reporting requirements.
  • Assists the Manager of Payroll & Benefits in the accurate and prompt payment of all medical, dental, vision, life & ltd plans and other benefits plans as needed.
  • Assist the department in new hire orientations for benefits, company policies and procedures including background checks and verification of I-9 documentation.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claim with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements with Payroll & Benefits Manager.
  • Creates new hire personnel files.
  • Maintains personnel and payroll records.
  • Ensure Data provided is complete and as per standard processes and procedures.
  • Assists the Manager of Payroll & Benefits with various projects and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, HR, or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in payroll/accounting is required
  • Broad knowledge of general Human Resources principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated skills in the utilization of automated HR systems including report writing and the use of PC’s and related software.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations and guidelines related to assigned work.
  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and methods.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
  • Skill in evaluating and analyzing technical payroll activities.
  • Skill in preparing detailed payroll reports.
  • Ability to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and ability to cope with several tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
